I have had a sinking feeling in my gut for months now.
Every time I slow down, every time I study alone, every time I pray and every time I skim social media.
Some of you are going to be convinced by the description that I have some deep troubling weight or sin in my life that God is trying to bring to my attention. Some will be convinced that my health or lack there of, is catching up to me. Other may even make the assumption that I am just a lonely old sour face that has lost his joy and is wallowing around in the muck. Let me assure you, that even though all of these are potential answers to this situation, depending on the person and the specifics, none of these are the case here.
Disappointment is what I am feeling. Disappointment with so many Christians trampling the pearls of God's Word in the muck and mire of this world. Disappointment with the gnats, camels, motes and beams that are blinding so many from the weightier matters. Disappointment with leaders who have come to believe themselves to be something more than a servant or even seem to seek glory and approval from man. Disappointment in the dead men's bones and the despisers of those that are good. Disappointment in the lack of a Fear of God.
The direction in which God continues to lead suggests that great prayerfulness need be upon us.
I ask all to pray and consider the Lord's way.
What will we find ourselves to have chosen: 1Samuel 2:12 or Acts 17:6

It is hard to answer the question that has not been asked. Jeremiah 29:13 "And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart."

Retreat
Yes, retreat.

No, do not run away crying because you are scared or hurting.
Separate yourselves unto the Lord.
With the mounting pressures and strains that are placed on children and families in society, it is important that Christian families find time to separate themselves from the stresses and influences of everyday life, and immerse themselves in the Word of God while spending quality time together.
This can be done very simply. Set aside time. Do not allow anyone come by or interrupt. Do not allow anyone to leave. Spend time as a family doing things that you all find enjoyable. Keep it Christ and Family Centered.
I know that it can be difficult to find things you all enjoy if there are any in your family that are not serving God at the moment, but try, try, try. There is no greater disappointment to one that is feeling lost in their relationship with Christ than feeling like they have also lost their relationship with their family and/or friends.
Removing ourselves from the influence of the world and spending time meditating on the things of God, give us rest and strength for the battle. This path also assists in growing a bond in the family unit that allows communication, trust, respect and ultimately holiness to multiply and flourish.
So, next time that the enemy attempts to push you toward "Retreat," remember - there is no need to run away when you have spent time with Christ.

"Have not I commanded the? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the Lord thy God is with the whithersoever thou goest."
