I have been bombarded of late with the musings of the self- righteous indignant audaciously ranting about which they have no right or authority, or possibly no real knowledge or understanding.
"...Fear and trembling..." is the instruction. Our own fear and trembling in the reverence of the power of God. It is His Word and Will that we search for...that we strive to achieve. No more, no less. As I read the ramblings and rants, I see so many lies that have entered into the adjudication of the Truth. Social norms and preferences that are being attributed to God, that have no direct relationship to His Will and some even in direct opposition.
These masquerade their ideas as protection and love, but their true motives, hidden even from themselves, are much more self serving...To draw away others after them...to have others agree with us makes our justifications feel more valid.
This undermines the search for Truth and the Will of God. The conflict becomes separate and gains the opportunity to destroy all involved.
The Truth is then left compromised, corrupted and covered over by the uncompromising and unteachable.
God does not change, therefore, explicitly and tangibly, we must. Not to be more like each other, but to be more like Him.
